Privus Mobile Enhances Caller ID Application to Deliver Real-Time Caller and Text Identification

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor

Privus Mobile, a provider of Caller ID solution for BlackBerry (News - Alert) phones, announced the addition of new features to its smartphone Caller ID application to deliver real-time caller and text identification.

Company sources explained that the presence of an innovative, audible feature enables Privus Mobile to announce the name of the incoming call or text for true hands-free operations whether the caller is in the user’s contact list or not.

BlackBerry users will benefit a lot as they will receive true Caller ID on their phone when the call is coming in and will also receive the name associated with incoming text messages from people not in a phone’s contact list also.

Privus Mobile for BlackBerry Version 4.0 features Caller ID which enables users to see the name associated with any incoming call on their BlackBerry smartphone including those not in the contact list.

The Text ID feature displays the name associated with all incoming text messages and the Voice Cue announces the name of callers from the user’s contact list and from Privus Mobile’s real-time Caller ID enabling true hands-free operation.

The Caller Name Look-up feature allows users to look up the name associated with any telephone number by using a comprehensive caller information database provided by Accudata (News - Alert) Technologies, said company sources.

Privus Mobile helps users customize their phone’s identification features according to their needs via several different package offerings. Privus Mobile’s caller name look-up feature will be included with all offerings and users can choose any other additional features they want from a variety of product offerings from the Privus Mobile Web site, BlackBerry App World, Handango or Handmark (News - Alert).

Greg Smith, president of Privus Mobile said in a release, “The days of scrambling to find your phone so you can see, or guess, who’s calling are over. No longer will you have to fumble around the passenger seat in the car to find your phone so you can see who’s calling even if you’re already wearing a Bluetooth headset.”

“Now you can see and hear the name behind the number for incoming calls or texts on your BlackBerry. It’s the perfect combination of true functionality and convenience in a smartphone application,” Smith added.

Privus Mobile sources noted that it delivers real calling names straight from the carriers and it works over the same SS7 network used by landline Caller ID services. This enables Privus Mobile to deliver reliable, up-to-date caller information most of the time.
