Software AG Announces 100 Percent Acquisition Of itCampus

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

Recently, Software AG announced the 100 percent acquisition of itCampus, including its UK subsidiary based in Derby. In April 2009, it initiated the acquisition by buying a 51 percent stake. The acquisition helped itCampus to fortify its position in the UK and major European markets. This was possible by integrating its product development in worldwide R&D network of Software AG. Thus, both companies together were able to provide next generation of outbound call centre technologies.

webMethods (News - Alert) Communicate was the first technology developed through the joint venture. It connects call centers with automated business processes directly. Thereby, the technology remarkably improves customer service levels. If there are any changes to customer service requests, it can be automatically passed on to customers in a very fast manner. Also, their response is processed automatically. Now, Software AG has got revenue which is more than twice the amount when compared to that in the last five years. In 2010, the company’s goal is to accomplish its mid-term target of EUR1 billion revenue.

In a release, Robert Denbeigh, managing director of itCampus UK said that "This is brilliant news for us and something that is not just good for itCampus in the UK but most importantly our customers as well. Being able to operate independently, but under the wing of one of the world's largest software companies brings enormous benefits in terms of security, resources and gravitas."

itCampus UK came into existence in 2006 bringing the ELSBETH Communication Centre technology. itCampus UK has a large number of international customers such as Axa, Radisson and Teleperformance (News - Alert). ELSBETH is a modular suite of products consisting of the most recent dialer technology, campaign management, call recording and VocalCoach. Currently, it is possible to integrate ELSBETH directly with a company's operational business via webMethods Communicate.

Organisations are able to incorporate requests made by phone, SMS or e-mail into their automated business process chain by leveraging the latest communication layer. Incorporation of automated means of communication (e.g., via voice applications systems, speech analysis, call recording, call monitoring) helps to quickly inform customers about the changes to their requests and can make quick decision on how to further handle the request. Within the organization, employees are able to make quick decisions, collaborate more effectively and guarantee completion of processes on time.
