Provider of full-duplex audio solutions for hands-free products Acoustic Technologies has announced that its patented SoundClear solution now supports wideband voice and is available for CSR’s BlueCore Multimedia Bluetooth processors.
Doubling the sampling rate of narrowband voice, the SoundClear wideband solution delivers expanded frequency range at both lower and upper ends.
“SoundClear wideband provides phenomenal speech quality for hands-free accessory products used with Skype and other VoIP services, for video conferencing or for wideband-enabled mobile handset solutions,” said Bob Ackmann, CEO at Acoustic Technologies (News - Alert).
Company officials said the improved voice quality is ideal for Bluetooth accessory products used for mobile telephony, tablets and conferencing devices, and also for applications that benefit from higher voice fidelity.
In addition to noise cancellation and echo cancellation, the SoundClear wideband solution features speech enhancement and full-duplex performance of the patented SoundClear technology.
Additional features include 16kHz Audio Sampling - 50 Hz to 7000 Hz for High Definition Voice; simple and fast tuning with RAPID Tool; Ambient (News - Alert) Aware Processing and more. It also supports mSBC CODEC.
Company officials said that the SoundClear system monitors and processes voice, echo, and noise signal power levels to deliver clear and natural audio. Voice recognition applications also benefit from the improvements in sound fidelity and clear speech from wideband audio.
When combined with Acoustic’s powerful SoundTools tuning tools and SoundAdvice audio consulting, the complete SoundSolution helps customers get products to market quickly and with the highest quality audio performance, according to company officials.
CSR (News - Alert) is a global provider of personal wireless technology, including Bluetooth, GPS, FM and Wi-Fi, to consumer electronics, mobile handsets and the automotive industry.
Anthony Murray, senior vice president of Audio and Consumer Business Unit at CSR, said that Acoustic Technologies is a “highly valued” eXtension Partner that continues to deliver leading edge products to support our Tier 1 customers.
“Acoustic’s SoundClear wideband solution delivers clearer, more natural sounding voice quality consumers can instantly appreciate, and helps our customers offer more compelling consumer products based on the new HFP 1.6 Bluetooth profile,” Murray said.
Earlier in January, Acoustic Technologies announced that over 40 Bluetooth products using its SoundClear software solution were on display at the 2011 International CES (News - Alert).
