MedQuist Holdings Inc., a provider of clinical documentation and workflow solution based on speech recognition technologies, recently announced an expansion in its senior management team.

Matt Jenkins, a healthcare industry veteran, has been appointed as the company’s senior vice president of Corporate Business Development, the officials at MedQuist Holdings clarified in a press release.

MedQuist Holdings has geared up for a market expansion through the strategic partnerships and planned acquisitions. In his new role, Jenkins will be responsible for development of strategic partnerships, acquisitions, investments and alliances.

In the span of his career in the healthcare information technology industry, Jenkins has successfully executed several key transactions, built up strategic alliances and helped develop and implement high-growth strategies.

“Our development of an ecosystem of partners is helping us quickly expand our market access through an increased value proposition to customers and validates the strength of our cloud-based, context-enabled speech and natural language understanding technologies. Matt's experience and associations within the industry will be instrumental in accelerating the execution of this strategy as we move into 2012 and beyond. He's an excellent addition to our senior leadership team,” Vern Davenport, chairman and chief executive officer for MedQuist Holdings stated in connection to the new appointment.

Under Jenkins’ leadership, Allscripts experienced dynamic growth over a short span of time. Jenkins held operational leadership roles in the ambulatory, acute, and post-acute business lines of Allscripts. Jenkins was the chief architect of the Allscripts’merger with Eclipsys (News - Alert) in 2010. He also led the 2008 merger with Misys Healthcare, the divesture of the Misys Hospital businesses in 2007 and several other transactions.

As vice president of Corporate Development and a member of the Misys Healthcare operating board (Misys, plc) his responsibilities included developing the strategic plan for the portfolio and leading the formation of many partnerships and alliances.

Last month MedQuist Holdings  announced that Novation, LLC has awarded the company an expanded agreement to serve its member organizations with clinical documentation technology and services, coding and analytical reporting capabilities for hospitals, physician practices and radiology clinics representing more than 30,000 members and affiliates.
