PCS Wireless and Voice Assist to Conduct Nationwide Market Test

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Voice Assist (News - Alert) Inc., together with PCS Wireless, announced that it will conduct a nationwide market test on 10,000 mobile phones.

Voice Assist will offer its solution, Voice Assist, to a select 10, 000 mobile phones sold by PCS via its distribution channel to business partners. Once receiving their phones, end users simply register the application online to begin using the ‘handsfree solution’ immediately.

Voice Assist solution works best for people on the go, as it offers conversational safe driving application that lets drivers use voice commands to make calls, listen to e-mail, read e-mail, reply to e-mail, send text messages, receive text messages and post to social networks by voice without typing.

“We’re excited to distribute Voice Assist with various feature phones and smart phones we sell,” said Ben Nash, CEO of PCS Wireless. “Voice Assist works on every phone we sell and provides another value added service that our business partners have come to expect from PCS.”

Voice Assist is also supported with Live Assist, Voice Assist’s optional live concierge service that comes on the line when subscribers say “Live Assist.” The live assistant can help consumers with turn by turn directions, finding local resources such as restaurants, gas stations, bank ATM machines or making reservations for dinner, concerts, airlines, hotels, rental cars and more.

“PCS Wireless has a well established reputation for providing excellent products and service. We’re excited to conduct this market test so we can learn how to optimize the results and, if appropriate, create the best plans to support the millions of handsets shipped each year by PCS,” said Michael Metcalf, CEO of Voice Assist.

With eight patents pending, Voice Assist is a handsfree voice interface that is audio aware and actionable based on subscriber defined priorities. It uses a network based virtual assistant platform that is engine agnostic and works on every handset, PC, tablet and IPTV (News - Alert) or Internet Radio.
