Powering the infamous Siri speech recognition assistant, Nuance (News - Alert) is now a major player in the industry. Now, the company debuted a new version 3 of its Dragon Dictate speech recognition software, which will be available by digital download next week, September 13, with physical box shipping slated for September 24.
This new version of Dragon Dictate Software boasts 15 percent more improvements to inaccuracies experienced when compared to its predecessor, Dragon Dictate 2. Expected to increase accuracy, speed, control of third-party applications and support for transcription from digital voice recordings, this new edition will prove very advantageous for individuals across a multitude of professions, reports MacRumors.
When Dragon Dictate first came out, it was a revelation to anyone unfamiliar or uncomfortable with using a computer, as it worked so that you’d talk and it would type. By using your very own voice, users could create and edit documents, e-mails, launch applications, open various files and even control their mouse. Dragon Speech Recognition Software is a self-described solution which “quickly and easily [captures] your thoughts and ideas…[to] get more done faster.”
This form of personalized voice recognition has truly transformed the face of voice technology today. According to a statement, Dragon Dictate 3 is now officially available on the market for Mac computers, where users can enjoy even higher levels of efficiency and productivity with even more advanced functions, allowing individuals to command and control Mac applications by voice – anytime, anywhere.
Even more, Nuance touts that this latest version of Dragon Dictate far surpasses the traditional speech-to-text method by allowing you to truly create a customized, fully voice-enabled work environment tailored to your exact specificities and preferences. Users can even create their own custom voice commands to perform critical business tasks with a simple word or phrase, and since it has 99 percent accuracy, optimum performance is guaranteed.
Dragon Dictate 3 for Mac is now available for $199.99 as a digital download, and carries the same price tag (News - Alert) for a physical box with a USB headset. Additional configurations come at varying price points.
