Audience Introduces Latest earSmart eS325 Advanced Voice Processor
Audience (News - Alert) Inc., an icon of advanced voice and audio processing for mobile devices, recently unveiled its latest and best-performing advanced voice processor: the earSmart eS325. The eS325 feature's Audience's newest technologies to allow for the best sounding voice experience possible, while offering innovations in real-time communications, speech recognition and media capture.
This new advanced voice processor is expected to ship in commercially available smartphone platforms in April.
Some of the earSmart eS325's innovations include simultaneous three microphone processing, optimized Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Mobile Audio Zoom, super wideband support for VoIP and enhanced stereo recording. Furthermore, bandwidth expansion technology provides consistent, HD-quality voice calls when moving between 3G and 4G networks, while meeting the latency requirements of the European HD Voice standard for minimal delay.
"The Audience earSmart eS325 raises the bar for mobile voice quality, delivering a host of exciting features and technologies that transform a consumer’s experience of using speech to communicate, interact and connect through their mobile device,” said Robert Schoenfield, vice president of marketing and business development at Audience, in a statement. “With many leading manufacturers already engaged with us, we expect to see the earSmart eS325 Advanced Voice processor play an important role in this year’s most exciting mobile devices.”
With its new technologies, the eS325 offers substantial improvements over previous generations of Audience products, boasting 30 to 55 percent signal-to-noise ratio improvement in noisy environments, greater consistency in voice quality, and 41 percent reduced power consumption for narrowband calls – along with a 52-percent reduction for HD voice/wideband calls.
Since the eS325 is compatible with leading operating systems and baseband interfaces, including SLIMbus, it offers a high degree of flexibility to manufacturers in terms of platform design.
Last month, Audience released its fourth quarter and calendar year 2012 financial results, reporting revenue of $38.7 million in Q4 and $143.9 million for the entirety of 2012.
