Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce Launches SaaS App Store in Collaboration with SaaS Markets

Investment in the right technology can help a company gain a competitive advantage over its competitors. But many companies with limited resources find the task of installation and management of software overwhelming.

A Software-as-a-Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) application can be a practical solution to this challenge, and the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce has taken up an initiative to make the process of procuring the right SaaS application easier for the Richmond, VA’s small businesses.

In a recent statement, the Chamber of Commerce said it has partnered with the business app store provider, SaaS Markets, to launch a Small Business App Store for its members. The app store will allow small- and medium-sized businesses (SMB) to browse, demo and buy more than 1,300 SaaS applications in a secure, online marketplace.

SaaS Markets designs and delivers App Stores for the SaaS market. The firm offers individual businesses a user-friendly portal that makes it easy to choose the SaaS tool that is right for their business needs.

Through relationships with major financial institutions, retail brands, technology companies and small business associations, SaaS Markets is bringing Software-as-a-Service to millions of small- and medium-sized businesses across the globe.

The official launch of the Chamber Small Business App Store has been scheduled for Thursday, September 27, 2012. The store is expected to equip entrepreneurs and members of the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce with the technology tools they need to be successful.

The store’s SaaS applications typically eliminate upfront cost, as well as the complexity and risk of purchasing, installing and maintaining software on a company’s personal servers.

“While technology is supposed to make it easier for entrepreneurs to build their businesses, buying, installing and managing software can become an all-consuming drain,” said founder and CEO of SaaS Markets Ferdi Roberts. “The Chamber Small Business App Store will allow business owners to easily find the tools they need, pay only for what they use, and devote their time and capital to serving customers and focusing on fulfilling their vision for their businesses, rather than battling technology.”

A few months ago, SaaS Markets  launched its brand, Appclick, a business app store now available in 18 additional countries worldwide, including the U.K., Ireland, Italy, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Poland, Norway, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Greece, Denmark, Czech Republic, Belgium and Austria – as well as Japan and New Zealand.
