Xerox Litigation Services is facilitating a faster and more accurate redaction process with the release of OmniX version 5.4.
The e-discovery division of Xerox has announced the availability of version 5.4, which eliminates the need to manually black out each portion of text that is not relevant.
The new latest version of Xerox Litigation Services’ proprietary web-based document review platform includes integrated automated redactions functionality that streamlines workflow in OmniX.
Users of this application can apply redactions automatically, along with reasons for the redaction, to specific terms in documents based on search results and advanced text pattern hits.
Xerox notes that this feature is helpful if businesses want to conceal personally identifiable information within a document.
Users can also track and report documents that contain the redactions by leveraging the audit features; and apply reverse redactions.
Reverse redactions allows users to choose specific areas in a document they wish to keep and redact the remaining content in the document.
The release of OmniX version 5.4 follows the introduction of a native redactions tool from Xerox earlier this year that allows users to redact documents, including Microsoft (News - Alert) Excel files, in their native format directly from OmniX with uninterrupted workflow.
“Our clients are now realizing a substantial increase in productivity,” said Paul Matthews, Xerox Litigation Services’ chief technology officer. “Additionally, for our clients involved in cross-border matters where the protection of personally identifiable information is critical, automated redaction is a highly effective tool to help them meet the myriad complex data privacy laws.”
Xerox enable workplaces to simplify the way work gets done so businesses can operate more effectively. The company was in news earlier this month for announcing the invention of a banking solution that reduces the cost of establishing branches and automates personal banking services.
