Recently, U.S Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C., gave a decision that will mandate large wireless players to agree to have "commercially reasonable" roaming deals on their 4G LTE (News - Alert) networks. They will need to strike the deals with any wireless operator, including small operators, who are interested in utilizing a competitor's network to expand their territory.
Lemko Corporation has issued a statement where it applauded the U.S. Court of Appeals’ decision. Lemko has announced that the company will now fasten its efforts to allow small wireless carriers in their installations of inexpensive 3G and 4G LTE mobile broadband services.
According to the company, this 3-0 decision is the basis for various important rulings. This includes providing power by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC (News - Alert)) to have oversight of the data services inter-relationships. So, when users of competing wireless carriers are outside their home area, cellular companies will now allow them to use their networks for the Internet and e-mail.
“Knowing that their customers will be able to roam onto larger networks, smaller carriers will now move forward confidently in building-out 3G and LTE services for their communities, resulting in the generation of new roaming revenue. Lemko looks forward to deploying its mobile broadband solutions that are designed to optimize the unique challenges found in rural America and provide the lowest cost per gigabit," said Michael Sisto, VP of Sales, Lemko.
Recently, the company signed a reseller agreement with Harris, an international communications and information technology company. Along with Harris’ KnightHawk and KnightLite mobile tactical communication platforms for military applications, this agreement consists of Lemko’s advanced ODC DMWN solutions. Offering warfighters, first responders and public safety officials with access to Lemko’s patented SwarmNet capabilities, Harris will now integrate its tactical cellular edge platform with Lemko’s virtualized mobile broadband core software.
