These days, you can literally dictate terms to your smartphone, and it will happily oblige. You need only install a dictation app and forget about the tedious task of entering data manually on the tiny keys of your smartphone.
Recently, BigHand, a digital dictation workflow developer and consultancy, revealed that Bell Lawyers, a law firm in Western Sydney, had deployed its BigHand Voice Productivity technology. With this, Bell Lawyers witnessed a considerable increase in document output, the company claimed.
In the past, the company relied on standalone dictation equipment, but it was looking to upgrade to an advanced platform which would allow the law firm to make use of speech recognition and mobile dictation. BigHand Voice Productivity technology not only caters to this need, but it also saves time by creating documents more quickly and efficiently for their clients.
The author interface in BigHand Voice Productivity solution has many common interface menus. For example, the BigHand Recorder is simple to use and enables users to rapidly set priorities, workflow destinations and password-protection. Additionally, it is easy to retrieve and work on documents with ‘attach a link’ or file functionality.
“Having the ability to dictate on-the-go has revolutionised the way myself and the other staff work remotely,” Andrew Bell, managing partner, explains of his experience with BigHand. “Without the BigHand smartphone app, it would have been very difficult and time consuming to get work turned around on my recent trip to Europe. Instead BigHand enabled me to instantly send dictations into the workflow so work was turned around in a matter of hours rather than waiting weeks until my return.”
In other news, back in 2009, the company revealed that it was certified through the Sprint Smartphone Certification Program to work on Sprint (News - Alert) networks. Enabling independent developers to market as Sprint Compatible, innovative applications, the Sprint Smartphone Certification Program serves as part of Sprint's Application Developer Program, providing all Sprint users with access through the Internet, whenever and wherever they go.
