FTI Announces Ringtail 8.3 Self-Serve Private Cloud e-Discovery to Improve Efficiency of Legal Teams

By David Gitonga, TMCnet Contributing Writer

Whether you’re a law student or a seasoned attorney, chances are you’re rocking an iPhone or an Android (News - Alert) smartphone, and thus using many cloud-based services in the process. Using these cloud solutions to un-tether yourself from your real-world desk means you can now work anywhere, whether it’s on the subway, the bus or while waiting for the judge to show up.

FTI Consulting, a global business advisory firm that helps organizations protect and enhance their enterprise value, has announced the 8.3 version of its award-winning Ringtail e-discovery software. The software will be accessed and managed in a secure, self-serve private cloud called Ringtail Software-as-a-Service.

Unlike previous version offerings, Ringtail 8.3 comes with improved review workflow and faster and more accurate management tools for legal reviews. The addition of the SaaS (News - Alert) component now allows users to access a complete spectrum of options for handling such things as do-it-yourself approach to SaaS software use, e-discovery matters of all sizes, a managed service model and a hybrid model-based approach to software and services that meet specific client requirements.

The Ringtail SaaS will be delivered to law firms and corporations via a Web browser, reducing the hardware spend associated with procuring, installing and managing hardware. These and other benefits of using an SaaS solution such as seamless upgrades, easy administration and data privacy will allow legal teams to be flexible and quickly add computing power when large projects come up.

Ringtail 8.3 does not work alone and can be integrated with other FTI technology such as managed review, predictive discovery and secure privilege library – in addition to international data collection to expert witness testimony.

As corporate adoption of cloud applications gains acceptance, many legal teams have continued to keep their data on-premises and behind firewalls. This has resulted in a wide disparity in e-discovery capacities and capabilities between corporate legal departments and law firms. Ringtail 8.3 addresses these varying needs by giving legal clients a self-service that comes with hosted software.

The On Demand Ringtaill 8.3 SaaS solution will hopefully help these markets increase their overall productivity and reduce their overall e-discovery costs.
