By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

AWS Support from Amazon is a one-on-one, fast-response support channel equipped with experience and technical support engineers. The service assists customers of all sizes and technical abilities to make use of the products and features offered by Amazon Web Services (News - Alert).

With pay-by-the-month pricing and no long-term contracts, all AWS Support tiers offer customers of AWS Infrastructure Services an unlimited number of support cases.

The company recently expanded free support for all AWS customers, along with a reduction in prices on premium support plans and various new features to help customers better interact with and improve their use of AWS. This includes chat functionality and proactive alerts when chances to save money present themselves.

Looking to better serve the customer's need or use case, the wide option of support offerings provided by AWS have been renamed. With the ability of anytime cancellation, all plans include support for an unlimited number of cases. They are available worldwide, and can be cancelled at any time.

“Amazon has been passionate about customer service since we started the company 17 years ago," said Brent Jaye, general manager of AWS Support. "Putting customers first is part of our DNA. We not only employ talented support engineers all over the world, but also build technology that enables them to provide proactive and helpful information to our customers. Our new Trusted Advisor program is a good example of that -- we use technology to determine if customers have security adjustments they should make.”

Recently, TMC’s (News - Alert) Kerry Doyle reported that the company released CloudFormation templates let IT developers create isolated cloud resources. Customers can automatically produce stacks of resources and populate a whole Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) with the help of a single CloudFormation template. Amazon Web Services first offered cloud-based services in 2006.
