NewNet (News - Alert) Communication Technologies (NewNet), a Skyview Capital LLC portfolio company, has successfully signed an agreement to acquire Tekelec's Mobile Messaging Business.
Tekelec’s (News - Alert) Mobile Messaging product family assists in creating and providing state-of-the-art messaging services without costly network over-engineering or complete network overhaul. It lets users monitor and control SMS traffic with the Application Gateway (News - Alert) and manage the origination and termination of SMS messages between circuit and IP networks by deploying the IP Short Message Gateway.
The acquisition of the Tekelec Mobile Messaging business reflects a considerable achievement in the evolution of NewNet's product portfolio and market focus. Ensuring business and product development continuity, the group's globally present employees will become part of NewNet's team.

Recently, TMC’s (News - Alert) Stefanie Mosca reported that that the company decided to use this year’s CTIA Wireless event in New Orleans, LA as the platform to re-launch the company in a new light. When the company started operations 20 years ago, its major concentration was on SS7 protocol stacks. Four years ago, the company moved further into message and data solutions after being bought by Skyview Capital, a private equity firm that has helped to fund NewNet’s passion projects.
