- Alert) has come a long way since Hotmail. Now, its hosted cloud services along with its evolving Office suites depict a much different company than dad's Microsoft.Microsoft's revamped image has caught the eye of Times of Malta who featured Microsoft's new services in an article.
Louise Mifsud, marketing manager at Microsoft Malta said, "Mega technology trends are changing how people work today: the cloud, mobile, social, and big data are all impacting how businesses engage with their customers, partners, and employees to better compete.”
Microsoft also recently launched a social network for Windows 8 that had people talking about Microsoft as a rival to Facebook and Google (News
- Alert), called So.cl In addition, Microsoft has been evolving their Office suites to work well on tablets by improving touch features.
It seems that not only is Microsoft acknowledging the modern office in its tendency to use social media but it is looking ahead to the possibility that the office of the future will be operated remotely or on the go. Many of Microsoft's Web Apps can even be utilized from different devices without having to be installed, which is what some identify as a tactic for Microsoft to offer more incentive to subscribe to their Web services.
