FriendCaller from C2Call (News - Alert) offers new ways to improve the way users communicate. To friends and family members, they can make use of the Rich Media Messaging service to send images, videos, animations, voice and video messages. It also allows the users to send their location information within seconds directly to their contacts.
And this service is attracting many users. The company which had about five million subscribers just about a year ago, recently, announced that the subscriber base has doubled now, taking the number of users to 10 million.
The company has used various promotional activities to achieve this impressive figure. For example, it encouraged users to upload a photo that represented the theme of "Togetherness" in the FriendCaller Facebook page. The submissions with most number of likes got prizes such as iPhone (News - Alert) 5, Samsung Galaxy S III, Nokia X3 smartphone, or calling credits for FriendCaller minutes.
“FriendCaller is currently the only app that supports real-time voice and group video chat across all popular mobile platforms including Apple iOS and Android-based devices, and via the desktop browser and Facebook," said Michael Knecht, CTO of FriendCaller (News - Alert) developer C2Call GmbH. "Recently, FriendCaller became the one-stop app for social communications, offering an enhanced feature set that enables users to share photos, videos and even their location.”
