Voxofon Reveals Free Messaging App for the Windows 8 Platform

By Daniel Brecht, Contributing Writer

Now available for both new Windows operating system tablets, Windows 8 and Windows RT, is Voxofon’s free texting and calling app. The messaging app was launched as Voxofon’s debut in the tablet world after the recent release of the Windows 8 platform.

The app offers SMS messaging and low cost international calls directly from a users’ Windows Phone, phones like the HTC 8X, Samsung ATIV S and Nokia (News - Alert) Lumia 920, among the first batch of Windows Phone 8 handsets. Windows users can chose to download the Voxofon app for texting, calls or SMS at the Windows Store.

This app also runs on Android (News - Alert), iPhone, Blackberry, Palm webOS and Windows Phone 7 platforms. Those that run Android can find it available to download at the Google Play store; for iPhone users at Apple's (News - Alert) App Store, and other users can go through Voxofon.com for free or low-cost messaging or calls.

Many computer and mobile users who have downloaded the Voxofon app have used it to cut costs of long distance calls, if not to send and receive messages to their friends or loved ones, from either their computer or a smartphone.  Those that tried the app have had only good things to say about it. They agree it is the must-have app for calling abroad as it is affordable to place calls via VoIP, landline or mobile.

This easy to use app can be used while running other applications to send SMS messaging to any mobile phone and receive responses in a chat screen via Voxofon's Bridge Messaging Technology.  Directly from the app, users can find messages and contacts displayed in a convenient format on the home screen. To place a call, users simply enter the number in the keypad, or select a contact, and press ‘Call’; else if sending an SMS text message, they just need to press ‘SMS’ and confirm the action.

Those that have the Voxofon app claim it is a more favorable option as it offers far cheaper rates for making a landline international call and for sending/receiving SMS by a smartphone without the use of Wi-Fi and an Internet connection being necessary; unless, of course, one chooses to make calls over the Internet via a PC.

Voxofon’s calling rates start as low as one cent per minute and are reported to be less than those charged by major phone carriers or offered by Skype (News - Alert) pay-per-minute rates.

This is an app which has been designed by Voxofon to cater to the messaging needs of consumers. By joining and being a subscriber to Voxofon, a mobile IP-based communication services provider, users will get their first call free.
