PageOne Communications Launches Responder Smartphone App for BlackBerry, Apple and Android

PageOne (News - Alert) Communications, one of the U.K.’s premier mobile technology companies and a pioneer of messaging innovations, recently introduced its Responder Smartphone App for BlackBerry (News - Alert), Apple iOS and Android devices.

The new app provides resilient closed-user group messaging to help organizations improve operational efficiency. It also ensures that important messages and alerts reach smartphone users quickly and securely.

In a statement, Nigel Gray, director at PageOne Communications, said, "The ever increasing amount of email and SMS messages received on mobile devices means critical operational messages can often be missed." "Responder separates and elevates operational messaging and alerting, and leverages two-way and GPS capability to assist in the real-time management and direction of field resource."

Featuring distinctive pop-up and audible alerting, a separate Inbox and two-way reply options, the Responder app ensures important real-time operational and emergency messages rise above the clutter of everyday e-mail and SMS.

In order to offer a separate secure messaging channel, the new Responder app extends two-way paging's core alerting features to the smartphone world. It supports GPS location services and incorporates a Status Update facility, which helps staff to indicate their current availability, allowing more intelligent, targeted messaging.

The Responder app also reportedly provides optional Lone Worker features, which offer additional support and peace of mind for field-based operatives. The Lone Worker mode delivers a periodic welfare-check alert which must be acknowledged by the user, without which an SOS alert, including a GPS location is automatically generated.

In related TMC (News - Alert) news, PageOne Communications was recently awarded a PSN Services framework agreement by Government Procurement Service.
