Jive Software (News - Alert), Inc. has been on an acquisition streak, having purchased both Meetings.io and Producteev. Together, the companies will provide Jive with even more user-friendly innovation, combining a new cloud-based task management and a video meeting tool to Jive’s products.

With Meetings.io, users can create video and chat connections with anyone on a web browser. It provides group video meetings in real time, including group chats and screen sharing, that can be used without downloads or sign ups across companies and locations.

Jive’s other acquisition, Producteev, is a cloud-based task management solution. With it, teams can collaborate and manage their workloads across any platform, setting tasks and transferring workstreams into trackable actions as necessary. It can manage and collaborate on tasks form anywhere, collect the tasks from emails, then schedule, prioritize, and assign them while tracking the task progress in real time.

Jive made some smart choices when it acquired the two companies. Both have services that will make a nice addition to Jive’s products, adding great video chat and task management solutions to them. The products will be integrated into the Jive platform in 2013, but they’ll also be available as standalone products, so customers will still be able to enjoy all that they have to offer, while Jive’s customers will be able to soon.
