Arkadin (News - Alert), a global collaboration services provider, has acquired Novasight, a company specializing in videoconferencing.

Arkadin hopes the acquisition will boost its own videoconferencing options, especially its unified communications product. Arkadin will gain access to Novasight’s videoconferencing expertise, while Novasight will have up to 25,000 of Arkadin’s B2B clients.

"We are delighted to integrate Novasight's expertise into our company as it offers major growth opportunities,” said Olivier de Puymorin, founder and CEO at Arkadin. “This acquisition allows our company to grow its offer and asserts our presence across the value chain of Unified Communications (News - Alert)."

“This acquisition will allow Novasight to enter a new stage in its development,” said Philippe Decaesteke, founder and CEO at Novasight. “The technological expertise of our teams, plus the market know-how and international presence of Arkadin, constitute the key elements of a successful combination."

Arkadin has over 1,000 employees across 31 countries and his expected to make a turnover $239 billion – a 45-percent increase over the previous year.

AXA Private Equity, Akradin’s primary shareholder, will help Arkadin integrate Novasight into the company.

"The acquisition of Novasight represents an important stage in Arkadin's growth, reinforcing its presence in the high growing market of video conferencing services. Novasight's expertise strengthens the distinctive positioning of Arkadin compared to its competitors," commented Francois Jerphagnon, managing director of small market enterprise capital at AXA Private Equity.

Arkadin placed second in the Deloitte (News - Alert) Technology Fast 50 for its turnover growth, making it one of the fastest-growing companies in France.

The company also recently won a Gold Marcom award for excellence in branding and website design.

“We transformed our brand identity to demonstrate the vital role of collaboration and social sharing technologies in a globally networked world," Sophie Huss, global director of marketing and communication for Arkadin, said at the time the award was given.
