Mobotix D14 DualDome Camera Released

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Mobotix has rolled out the new Mobotix D14 DualDome Camera, built to offer variety of ways to examine a scene because the two modules can be combined to create one image.

This new weatherproof and shock-resistant 6.2-megapixel surveillance camera has entered the market after the release of Mobotix D12 series of cameras which stunned the market previously.

This new product includes 90 degrees wide angle and tele lenses that help the camera to monitor an entire scene and, at the same time, the tele lens can record portrait photos in front of a particular area, such as an entrance.

Users can even install the new D14 on the wall, and the two 90 degrees lenses to allow 180 degrees recording when monitoring an entire parking lot, for example. With the addition of a digital sensor switching function, the D14 can also be used as a day/night camera since it can be equipped with one color and one black/white module ensuring the most brilliant color during the day and high sensitivity at night, said the company officials.

What’s more, the new Mobotix D14 inherits a motion detection feature which will enable the user to trigger recording and alarm notifications that can be sent via email or VoIP. It is also compatible with the SIP audio protocol. The integrated DVR includes up to 64 GB memory and records for weeks without a PC. If needed, the memory can be extended to terabytes with an external NAS drive.

As the latest enhancement, the company has added USB and MxBus interfaces for extension modules such as I/O, GPS or RS232, an improvement compared to D12 series. The new processor in the camera allows higher frame rates of up to a 6.2 megapixel image format. Microphone and speaker are supported by new audio functions that include echo elimination.

Steve Gorski, General Manager, Americas, Mobotix said that the Mobotix D14 combines the unique Mobotix decentralized approach to surveillance with 6.2 megapixel quality video to provide exceptional coverage of large areas with the detail required to correctly identify situations quickly.

"The Mobotix D14 enhances our comprehensive suite of innovative, high-resolution surveillance technologies that are all easy to install but also offer superb performance and advanced functionality," Gorski added.
