Recently KenCast (News - Alert) customer Chris Stasi, senior vice president Day to Day Operations and Technology Development for TVN, spoke of his experience working with KenCast, a provider of live streaming coverage solutions.
KenCast’s calling card in the digital world is its ability to help transform content delivery into comprehensive media, selling end to end, turn-key products for digital media needs.
Backed by 16 years of experience, KenCast officials say their mission is to provide retail, the entertainment and media industries, public safety, military or Homeland Security sectors, or even those who “want Live Online Producer streaming video for authorized viewers around the globe.”
As Stasi said, “We did a complete automation system overhaul two years ago, that we rebuilt from scratch, internally.” That meant every piece of third-party software and hardware in their system was replaced with internally-produced alternatives, except for one: The KenCast MultiCast Utility.
“We actually worked it into our automation systems specifically because we liked it and didn’t want to rebuild it ourselves,” Stasi said, noting that since it’s hooked right in the middle of their system, if something goes wrong, “even if it’s not KenCast’s issue,” they’ve always had an easy time dealing with KenCast about the problem.
Back in April TMC’s (News - Alert) CEO Rich Tehrani wrote that one of the more interesting companies in the streaming video market is KenCast and one area of growth for the company is live streaming of sporting events.
One of the differentiators KenCast offers, Tehrani found, is “technology which merges 3G and 4G broadband wireless signals from multiple carriers – allowing a transmission of higher quality than is allowed by the upload speed of a single carrier.”
As Tehrani explained, as more 4G networks are rolled out and bonding technology becomes more common, “eventually everyone will be able to stream live video from virtually anywhere -- rivaling the output from a major television network. And that my friends is the definition of technology democratization.”
