The complexity in today’s IT environment is leading enterprises to find comprehensive solutions that allows them to focus on their core competencies instead of worrying about what technology to use. With so many solutions available in the marketplace, making the right choice can be very difficult. The difficulty also extends to service providers as they try to offer the best solutions to address the needs of their customers. Because not everybody offers everything, forming key alliances with established companies makes it possible to deliver a wide range of solutions. Cherwell Software (News - Alert), provider of IT service management (ITSM), announced it is now part of the Microsoft Enterprise Cloud Alliance, which should go a long way into increasing its product line.
As an integrated solutions provider, Cherwell is looking to have a comprehensive IT operations management by implementing a tailored solution that can deliver the functionality and business value enterprises are looking for.
According to the company, this partnership will allow it to tightly integrate its solutions with System Center 2012 R2 and other Microsoft (News - Alert) products to give IT operations management a more unified and comprehensive approach.
“Cherwell solutions complement the capabilities of Microsoft System Center and give customers choices in modern service management that will integrate with cloud, hybrid-cloud and on-premises solutions from Microsoft,” said Michael Leworthy, Group Manager, Enterprise Cloud, Microsoft.
The Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 is designed to exploit many of the benefits of the Microsoft Cloud OS with a unified management across customer data centers, service provider data centers and Windows Azure. Once it is deployed, it uses enterprise-grade management features along with best-in-class performance for Windows Server environments and first-party Microsoft workloads (SQL, Exchange, and SharePoint). It also reduces data center complexity by allowing customers to simplify how they provision, manage and operate their infrastructure. This makes it possible to optimize applications and workloads by enabling the delivery of predictable application SLAs.
Cherwell is looking to integrate System Center 2012 R2 Operations Manager, System Center Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr), Lync, Outlook, Windows PowerShell, Dynamics, and more with its Cherwell Service Management (CSM), an IT service management solution and Express Software Manager. The CMS solutions is built on the Microsoft .NET platform, and can be deployed through SaaS (News - Alert) or on-premises.
“Cherwell is excited to work with Microsoft to integrate Cherwell’s ITSM and ITAM solutions with System Center and with products across the Microsoft platform. It is an ideal partnership for customers who appreciate practical solutions to tough problems,” said Craig Harper, President of Cherwell.
The global economy requires enterprises to keep pace with developing technology. Not being able to respond quickly and with the flexibility needed to deploy the right solution as soon as possible can result in decreased productivity and market share losses. Cherwell looks to address these issues by making solutions accessible that can span datacenters for complete availability. The alliance with Microsoft, and the integration of System Center 2012 R2 will give it the ability to deliver on this front.
