Edgewater Networks Helps net2phone Improve Services

Since it was established in 1990, net2phone (News - Alert) has relied on networks to deliver its digital communication services. As IP telephony continued to evolve into hosted phone systems, unified communications (UC) and more, it became that much more important to ensure the reliability of the network infrastructure. The company just announced it has entered into a partnership so it can continue delivering its services, including Hosted PBX (News - Alert) and SIP Trunking to businesses, with the Network Edge Orchestration from Edgewater Networks.


Edgewater Networks (News - Alert) provides solutions that enable service providers and enterprises to deliver IP-based voice, video and data services with its Network Edge Orchestration platform. For net2phone, this means its customers will have the quality of experience with their voice solution that guarantees every call will be clear, without any lag, and available at all times.

"Edgewater Networks is an ideal partner because its Network Edge Orchestration platform gives us visibility and control into the customer's site, network device interoperability, problem identification and troubleshooting functionality, all of which enable us to provide the highest voice quality, on every call," said Zali Ritholtz, COO of net2phone.

In order to deliver this level of quality, the Network Edge Orchestration includes customer premises-based EdgeMarc Intelligent Edges and a cloud-based EdgeView Service Control Center. These platforms combine to provide a comprehensive cloud to edge hybrid solution with increased visibility and a high quality experience.

The EdgeView Service Control Center provides real-time visibility into performance and service quality by provisioning, configuring and managing Intelligent Edge solutions. Intelligent Edge actively monitors, secures, and optimizes service quality for voice, data and video traffic at the customer premises. This two pronged monitoring is able to protect the network with active service management when data is coming in and out from the customer's endpoint, as well as the service provider.

The system also provides real-time alerts/alarms for remote troubleshooting and management, fault isolation and reporting, and automated provisioning in the event it detects any problem in the transmission of voice and data traffic. This includes advanced analytics to optimize network performance and service quality with a report mechanism that highlights events as they happen.
