The Criticality of Making Email Migration to Office 365 Secure
By Peter Bernstein
It does not matter what latest report on security breaches you read. Realities are that, from malware to ransomware, the vector of vulnerability that is still the pathway to mayhem of choice is email. Organizations, despite the rise of social media, chat, etc., still rely on email as the mainstay for communicating internally and externally. And, that is a good thing if proper precautions are taken. Unfortunately, that is a big IF.
Another reality is that “E”verything is moving to the cloud, which creates its own set of security, privacy and compliance challenges. This includes the 800 pound gorilla of applications which we all have honed our interaction and other business skills on, Microsoft (News - Alert) Office. It too has become cloud-centric. And, as a result, organizations of all sizes and locations rightfully are looking at all aspects of migrating traditional email to Microsoft Office 365 with a watchful eye on security challenges.
The good news is that assuring the migration of email to Office 365 not only is secure, but in many ways is more secure than ever can be done successfully particularly in the hands of a solutions provider with a track record for helping customers make the move with maximum benefit and minimal disruption, and with the ability to overcome some of Office 365’s shortcomings.
For those who are either in the process of moving email to Office 365 or are contemplating such a move and have questions, a great place to get those questions answered is the insightful webinar with the absolutely apt title, Peace of Mind in the Cloud: Securing Email Migration to Office 365. To be held live Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 1:00 PM EDT / 11:00 AM PDT, you are invited to join me, Michael Osterman, president and principal analyst, Osterman Research, Inc., and Madhu Reddy, global product manager, HPE SecureMail, as we delve into not just basic email migration issues, but also how to take advantage of end-to-end encryption to enhance the ability to not just ward off bad guys but protect mission critical information at rest and on the move.

- Security and privacy pitfalls that could arise in a cloud environment.
- How can end-to-end email encryption give you peace of mind in the cloud?

Micahel Osterman is one of the preeminent industry analysts on the subject and HPE SecureMail is the most widely deployed end-to-end email encryption solution in the world, which integrates seamlessly with Office 365, enhancing its security, privacy and usability capabilities.
As the title of the webinar says, this is all about those responsible for securing an organization’s sensitive information peace of mind. Closing the gap between current email vulnerabilities and today’s future threats with a secure solution is something that has become almost the poster child for depicting what truly is “mission critical.” We hope you will join us.
