Telit Wireless Solutions, a provider of machine-to-machine (M2M) modules and services, has received AT&T (News - Alert) certification for its full family of HE910 3G and 4G modules. These modules are now certified for use on the carrier's HSPA and HSPA+ wireless network.
The HE910 family includes six 3G and 4G modules, which are part of the xE910 form factor family, with all regional and network variants featuring a 28.2 x 28.2 x 2.2mm Land-Grid Array (LGA) package.
Featuring an ultra-low profile in an integrated solution, the RoHS-compliant HE910 modules combine the access to digital communication services in GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS and HSPA networks.
Telit's HE910 family modules support all five existing frequency bands in 3G mode: 850/900/1700/1900/2100MHz. Offering ubiquitous 2G coverage with quad band GPRS and EDGE class 12, these devices facilitate for worldwide application deployments.
Apart from having a low profile, low power consumption and advanced connectivity features, the six modules within the HE910 family are ideal for compact, high-bandwidth mobile computing applications that will benefit from the widespread network coverage AT&T offers, say officials with Telit.
Some of the AT&T approved variants include 4G modules for global deployments. One among them is the full-featured HE910 - also known as HE910-G - featuring HSPA+ data, voice and GPS capabilities.
The AT&T Mobile Broadband Accelerator Program-certified HE910-GA3G modules, which are designed to serve the North American market, include: the HE910-NAR, with data and voice; the data-only HE910-NAD; and the data- and GPS-enabled HE910-NAG. These modules have quad-band 4G with HSPA+ data, voice and GPS capabilities.
Another AT&T certified HE910 module includes the HE910-D, which provides data-only functionality.
According to Telit, these AT&T certified embedded modules are among the smallest and most lightweight in the market today, reducing costs in high-volume applications and in portable devices.
Mike Ueland, senior vice president and general manager of Telit Wireless (News - Alert) Solutions North America, said in a statement, "Through AT&T's certification, Telit is equipped to offer our customers certified modules that reduce the time-to-market and technical risk associated with taking on an M2M application design."
In recent related news, TMCnet had reported that Telit's HE910 modules received certification for use on Rogers wireless networks in Canada.
