Recently, IDO Security partnered with Berkeley Varitronics (News - Alert) Systems, Inc. (BVS), wherein each company will market and resell BVS' PocketHound and Wolfhound-PRO handheld cell phone detector models.

IDO Security's MagShoe scanner will also be marketed through this deal.

MagShoe from IDO Security is an innovative “shoes-on” weapons metal detection system. This system identifies metal items hidden in footwear immediately and accurately. It can be done up to four centimeters above the ankle.

MagShoe provides clear, immediate results without requiring the removal of shoes, thanks to its patented, step-in design.

PocketHound is a highly sensitive cell phone detector. The award-winning, passive receiver is no larger or heavier than a deck of cards, and is specifically tuned to the RF signature common in most cell phones (both U.S. and international).

This consists of all 2G and 3G bands (PCS, CDMA / WCDMA (UMTS), GSM, EGSM). BVS will sell the MagShoe all over U.S. to its customers, the company has stated.

Michael Goldberg, IDO president and CEO, stated, “We recognize that enlisting experienced companies like BVS, which have well-established sales channels in the US, is key to ramping up our North American sales. We are very enthusiastic about teaming up with BVS, which sells cell phone detectors to U.S. prisons to stop illegal cell phone usage, as this creates excellent synergy with the MagShoe, which is part of the solution to the same problem.”

Recently, the company deployed the MagShoe at the Penitenciarul Poarta Alba Prison in Bucharest Romania. Following the demonstration of the MagShoe at the ICPA Regional conference in Bucharest, June 14-15, and the company's participation in the Israeli delegation to the 2012 Black Sea Defense & Aerospace Exhibition in May 2012, IDO Security has started a pilot program in the Constanc'a Prison.
