The growth of machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) applications is increasing gradually. Cashing in on this trend, and with an objective to simplify computing and communications for customers, Eurotech – a provider of integrated M2M solutions – has entered a strategic partnership with ThingWorx.
Under the terms of their collaboration, ThingWorx has certified Eurotech’s Everyware Cloud and Multi-Service Gateways as ThingWorx Ready.
A provider of first software application platform designed for today’s connected world, ThingWorx is allowing businesses to rapidly deliver innovative applications and connected solutions across various markets, from manufacturing, energy and food, to M2M remote monitoring and service, and IoT applications.
ThingWorx’s rapid application development platform is the industry's first "plug-and-play" application development platform designed to simplify the building of M2M solutions and IoT applications for the emerging connected world. It combines the key functionality of Web 2.0, search and social collaboration, and applies it to the world of "things," including connected products, machines, sensors and industrial equipment.
The ThingWorx-Ready Program enables hardware and software companies to pre-integrate their product with the ThingWorx rapid application development.
The pre-integration simplifies the creation and deployment of M2M solutions.
Eurotech's certification as ThingWorx Ready now creates a pre-integrated solution that simplifies development and reduces the cost of deployment of M2M solutions. Consequently, customers can build applications rapidly as well as make business decisions based on data coming from the intelligence at the edge of the network.
The pre-integrated solution includes Eurotech's Everyware Cloud, an M2M integration platform that acts as a bridge between Multi-Service Gateways and the ThingWorx application development platform. The integration will facilitate enterprises to have complete access to a full M2M solution, from the device to the cloud and into the enterprise application.
Greg Nicoloso, CEO at Eurotech in North America, said in a statement, "Eurotech's focus has always been on simplifying computing and communications for our customers to help them be more competitive in their market. As the Internet of Things becomes more prevalent, we see the ThingWorx platform extending that simplicity even further, by giving users the power to quickly and intuitively create IoT applications and mash-ups."
Nicoloso added, "By integrating ThingWorx with the Eurotech Everyware Cloud and our Multi-Service Gateways, enterprises have access to a full M2M solution, from the device to the cloud and into the enterprise application. We look forward to encouraging and enabling M2M and IoT growth through this partnership with ThingWorx."
According to sources, over 25 of Eurotech's multi-service gateways are Everyware Cloud-ready and ThingWorx Ready for customer flexibility. With this, customers can experience simpler application development and flexibility in communications options (3G, GSM, GPS, Wi-Fi, and other common interfaces) to fit into any sensor environment.
Recently, Zaragoza, a Spain-based wireless sensor network hardware provider, and Libelium, also completed the ThingWorx certification process for a few of its products through the ThingWorx-Ready Program.
