StickNFind Technologies Showcases StickNFind, MeterPlug and BluTracker

StickNFind Technologies, a product development company specializing in RF and very small Bluetooth designs, launched several new designs at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES (News - Alert)) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A subsidiary of RF design firm SSI America, StickNFind Technologies has started funding and developing commercial Bluetooth designs on crowd funding platform, IndieGoGo.com.

StickNFind raised nearly $630,000 and achieved its goals for its first two product launches, StickNFind and MeterPlug. Also, its new campaign BluTracker, a long-range GPS locator, was launched on January 3rd.

StickNFind is a nifty, inexpensive solution for tagging and locating electronics, keys and pets. For roughly $25 a pop (estimated retail), users get a small adhesive disk that can be affixed to any flat surface or attached to a keychain. Inside, there's a replaceable CR2016 watch battery that's said to last more than a year, a Bluetooth module and antenna, an LED-lit ring and a piezoelectric speaker. A free Android (News - Alert) or iOS app then allows any stickers within a roughly 100-foot (line of sight) range to detect an object. The current version can only display distance, but an update, set to hit before StickNFind ships, will add direction, leading directly to the target. User can also activate a (fairly faint) beeper, and an LED ring around the perimeter of the sticker, further helping you to find the device, even in a dark room. The app will offer several other features, including a "Virtual Leash" that alerts the user when the sticker goes out of range, a "Reverse Virtual Leash" will make the device (perhaps attached to keys) beep, letting the user  know that he/she has left their smartphone behind.

MeterPlug will tell about how much actual money an appliance is costing when it is run, and when it's off (Standby). MeterPlug plugs in between any appliance and the AC outlet. It measures consumption and sends that information over Bluetooth to the smartphone, where the app displays the real costs.
