In order to deliver scalability and flexibility to the M2M services it offers, Jasper Wireless (News - Alert) has recently adapted Tekelec’s Policy Server (PCRF).
Jasper Wireless enables mobile network operators around the world with platform, applications, and design services to both machine-to-machine (M2M) and embedded devices markets. The company uses its unique end-to-end solution so network operators and enterprises can scale their deployment of connected devices quickly and profitably.
Now, the new deployment will help Jasper fix definite rules governing when devices transmit information to minimize congestion and maximize capacity over 3G and LTE (News - Alert) networks.
"Jasper Wireless is the leading partner for mobile operators around the world to manage their M2M and connected device services,” said Daniel Collins, CTO at Jasper Wireless. "As a result, our operator partners rely on us for best-in-class solutions and that’s a big reason why we selected Tekelec (News - Alert). Jasper Wireless’ highly configurable solution offers automation of operational processes, including custom device provisioning, instant activation, real-time diagnostic tools and detailed billing and usage reports, to ensure customers benefit from an enhanced user experience.”
The newly deployed Tekelec Policy Server product is a fully compliant 3GPP PCRF that helps manage policy rules between applications and policy enforcement points like access devices.
This helps user organizations to easily add and re-configure policies to manage and control Quality of Service (QoS), charging, quota, and optimization and admission control. A wide variety of interfaces make it easy for users to integrate the PCRF into any type of mobile or fixed broadband network. The Policy Server can be deployed with a 3GPP-compliant Subscriber Profile Repository (SPR) to store subscriber information such as rate plans and with a 3GPP-compliant Diameter Routing Agent (DRA) to balance loads across multiple Policy Servers.
"Jasper’s services are helping mobile operators capitalize on an M2M revenue opportunity that will grow to nearly $1.2 trillion by 2020 according to the GSMA (News - Alert),” said Doug Suriano, CTO of Tekelec.
Suriano said that the Tekelec’s Policy Server will ensure that Jasper can scale its deployment of connected devices and services quickly and profitably.
