It was a busy week in the Machine to Machine Solutions sector. Here are some of the major stories from TMCnet.

Rogers Communications, a media and communications company based in Canada, predicts it will power more than one million machine-to-machine connections (M2M) during 2013. The company also plans to deliver “cloud-based hosted data analytics” solutions to business clients by the end of 2013.

The company also predicts that its total market revenue for the entire M2M ecosystem will reach almost $1 billion by the next three years in Canada.

In another story, Jasper Wireless recently adapted Tekelec’s (News - Alert) Policy Server (PCRF). Jasper Wireless provides platform, applications and design services to both M2M and embedded devices markets. Network operators and enterprises can use the technology to scale the deployment of their connected devices.

PCRF also will help Jasper fix rules governing when devices transmit information – to minimize congestion and maximize capacity over 3G and 4G LTE (News - Alert) networks.

TMCnet also reported that ILS Technology, the provider of a ready-to-use, off-the-shelf cloud platform to connect enterprise IT systems to devices and machines, named AT&T (News - Alert) the winner of its 2012 Carrier Partner of the Year Award.  AT&T was honored for its contribution to shared business in the M2M marketplace.

Another story reports how Avnet Embedded, a division of Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, has teamed up with KORE, a company specializing in M2M communications. The partnership will let Avnet Embedded customers based in the Americas get access to the KORE network.

KORE provides cellular and satellite services and powers M2M applications across a number of industries, including healthcare, utilities, enterprise IT, transaction processing and fleet management.

And a report came from TMCnet that Vodafone, reportedly the second-largest mobile telecommunications company in the world, has been helping businesses to improve security by providing wireless M2M solutions, which include asset tracking, CCTV and alarm systems. Vodafone (News - Alert) M2M solutions enable businesses to have remote access to security systems for improved monitoring and control of valuable assets, protecting them from criminal intervention while saving time and money for the business.

M2M solutions are powered by Location Tracker, which help businesses to closely monitor progression of assets and improve efficiency worldwide.
