Sangoma to Strengthen Ingram Micro's UC and VoIP Offerings with New Agreement

Sangoma Technologies Corporation today entered into a distribution agreement with the United Kingdom Division of Ingram Micro (News - Alert), a provider of telecommunications solutions. The agreement will see the Ingram Micro line card shipping with three of Sangoma's IP communications products in the U.K. and throughout Europe.

These products include the award winning NetBorder Lync Express all-in-one Lync deployment appliance, the NetBorder VoIP media gateway series, which offers TDM-to-IP interconnection, and the recently released NetBorder SBC series, for SIP trunking and IP-to-IP interworking support.

"The addition of Sangoma to our vendor lineup, combined with the compelling proposition we are developing through our partnerships with other market-leading manufacturers, lends significant weight to our value proposition in the Unified Communications (News - Alert) space," said Jon Bunyard, director of the Advanced Solutions UK Division at Ingram Micro.

Indeed, Ingram Micro seems poised to take full advantage of its partnership with Sangoma in order to offer superior unified communications deployment. Specifically, the company has developed a bundled offering based around Lync Express which facilitates deployments of up to 500 Lync seats, addressing concerns that Lync can be complex to deploy. The bundle even includes an onboarding tool for new resellers that want to learn about deploying Lync.

On its own, NetBorder Lync Express is an appliance that provides all the core capabilities necessary in a Lync deployment. It is made up of both hardware and software components — including Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows Server, Microsoft Lync Server, Sangoma's Session Border Controller and the NetBorder Express VoIP gateway — in one appliance. The unit is rack mountable and features a number of configurations, supporting various connection types, even legacy line connections.

While NetBorder Lync Express has already proven itself successful, this agreement will allow Sangoma to expand the appliance's reach even further.

"Ingram Micro is highly respected around the globe, and a perfect partner for Sangoma as we look to continue our growth and increase our leadership in the Lync market," said Bill Wignall, chief executive officer and president of Sangoma. "We expect that our relationship with Ingram Micro will help us further expand our market share in the growing Lync ecosystem space."
