TMCnet Microsoft Lync Solution Week in Review

It was another good week for Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync Solutions as even more companies embraced the technology to improve operations.

John Laing, a U.K.-based investment company focused on management of infrastructure assets with global operations, implemented a combination of Microsoft Lync Server 2010 and Polycom (News - Alert) RealPresence video solutions in order to achieve enhanced collaboration across its U.K. and overseas offices.

Polycom’s integration with Microsoft Lync desktop clients helped make video conferencing widespread within John Laing, which in turn helped enhance productivity and reduce travel costs. According to a company statement, approximately half of the firm’s 1,000 employees collaborate via Polycom desktop-based or room-based video solutions securely, easily and intuitively from within familiar interfaces by simply clicking a name on their Lync contact list.

AltiGen (News - Alert) Communications, Inc., a provider of integrated Microsoft-based unified communications solutions, announced its MaxACD contact center for Lync solution has been deployed by OBT Anywhere, a provider of Hosted Lync services, to deliver a hosted cloud-based call center service across North America, Asia and Australia.

"We look forward to working closely with AltiGen and enabling businesses to reap the benefits of running native Lync Voice with AltiGen for both the multi-tenant and virtually dedicated environments," said Shane Muller, founder and CEO of OBT Anywhere. "Moving forward, organizations will now be able to integrate all Lync native endpoints and devices, and incorporating Lync Mobility and Lync Conferencing with video as well as Exchange Unified Messaging, and all with multi-regional capability."

Finally, Atidan, a software consulting firm that provides a range of business solutions, qualified as a member of the Microsoft Cloud Accelerate program by demonstrating its ability to meet Microsoft’s customers’ evolving needs in today’s dynamic cloud marketplace.

To qualify for the Cloud Accelerate program, partners must successfully demonstrate their cloud services expertise through rigorous sales and technical assessments. To ensure the highest quality of services, Microsoft requires customer references to demonstrate successful customer implementations and satisfaction.

According to company officials, Atidan’s growing cloud practice now incorporates solutions covering infrastructure, security, monitoring/operations, unified communications, collaboration and mobility.
