Plantronics' Partner Enhances Lync Experience with Smart Forward Agent

Plantronics recently announced that its strategic partner, Avtex (News - Alert) Solutions, has developed Avtex Smart Forward Agent, a unique application to enhance user experience when Voyager Legend UC headset is used with Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync. Avtex Smart Forwarding Agent leverages the information relayed by Legend about the distance between user and PC to automatically activate Lync Call Forwarding or Simultaneous Ring functionality when user steps away from the PC. Plantronics (News - Alert) is well-known market leader in wearable technology related to audio communications.
In a statement, Joe Burton of Plantronics said, “Plantronics is excited to see our partners leveraging the broad capabilities of the Voyager Legend UC to bring users an application that enhances the Lync experience beyond audio. With users becoming increasingly mobile, the Avtex Smart Forward Agent better integrates a user’s mobile phone with Lync for a truly unified communications experience.”
Avtex Smart Forwarding Agent can also be integrated with Plantronics’ full suite of endpoints strategically automated for Microsoft Lync 2013. Plantronics’ extensive product suite leveraging Microsoft Lync include Plantronics Blackwire: USB Corded Headsets, Plantronics Calisto: USB Phones and Speakerphones, Plantronics Savi: Wireless Headset Systems and Plantronics: Simply Smarter Communications.
Avtex Smart Forwarding Agent can capture contextual data through a Bluetooth adapter to identify a user’s presence and assess the need to trigger automatic Lync Call Forwarding or Simultaneous Ring features as required to the user’s mobile communications device.
