Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync 2013 provides a single, unified client for real-time communications that combines several communications features including voice and video calls, Lync Meetings, presence, instant messaging, and persistent chat.
Companies deploying Lync benefit from the simplified deployment, adoption and support offered by the single UC client application.
VNG Corporation, a digital content company in Vietnam, has deployed Microsoft Lync 2013 to create an integrated communication channel including e-mail, phone, mobile, videoconferencing among others. It has helped improve the efficiency of the company and benefits to employees.
In addition to Microsoft technologies, VNG also relies on open source technologies, so the biggest challenge for the company was to integrate its systems on many different IT infrastructures for better efficiency.
With Microsoft Lync 2013, the company is able to improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. It has helped the company integrated the entire communication system into a unified system, offering greater flexibility to its users.
“Thanks to the deployment of technology platforms and solutions of Microsoft Lync, VNG has been able to maintain business operations with high productivity while ensuring the safety and security of information," said Nguyen Thanh Phong, director of IT Department at VNG, in a statement.
The Lync deployment has not only helped VNG’s management board operate their work more smoothly, but also helped increase the flexibility in any situation, at anytime, anywhere and in any space, company officials said.
With Lync, VNG is able to handle all its main activities online. Lync has also made it possible for the company to simplify internal operations such as conversations, online exchange information, conference or live meeting.
“Thanks to the multimedia tools, such as e-mail, instant messaging, voice and video calls over IP which are available in Lync, the collaboration on projects or regular work of the employees or with customers are fast and more flexible thanks to the ‘real’ status updates, especially operating costs and traditional telephone calls or communications are reduced by over 10 percent,” Phong added.
Another advantage is that Microsoft Lync 2013 solution smoothly integrates not only with Microsoft Exchange platform, but also with other communication tools, such as Yahoo Messenger, Skype (News - Alert), and PBXs. It also complies with the current video standard (H323) being used by LifeSize, creating unified interface for many different communication channels.
