The Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync Solution News community was a bit quiet this week, but several new developments still made headlines. Here's a roundup of TMCnet's Microsoft Lync Solution News coverage.
Thanks to Exponential-e, Scott-Moncrieff, an accounting and business services firm in Scotland, has completed the first phase of migrating its data center into the cloud. As the partnership continues, Exponential-e will migrate the Scottish firm's complete ICT framework to its 100 GbE Layer 2 high-speed national network.
With the migration, Scott-Moncrieff hopes to enhance network transparency, which should improve monitoring of bandwidth usage and latency. Also, enhanced security and an Exponential-e data recovery application can prevent network outages and enhance business continuity. The migration includes critical applications such as SharePoint, Lync and Managed Exchange.
Also this week, continuing education provider WebCE announced positive results after deploying Zeacom Communication Center (ZCC) software on Microsoft Lync. For instance, the new setup reduced abandonment rates, improved service levels, increased agent productivity and enhanced organizational efficiency. WebCE was drawn to ZCC's administrator control capabilities and its ease-of-use. The company also liked the advanced reporting, intelligent call queuing, business intelligence and agent monitoring capabilities.
Zeacom (News - Alert) delivered a presentation at ITEXPO in Las Vegas this week, highlighting WebCE's deployment as it discussed how customer interactions, Web, calls, IVR and social media can assist contact centers with accessing the information that they need to provide customer service resolutions.
Finally, the Radicati Group released its "Hosted Microsoft Exchange" Market Quadrant for 2013. In a fashion similar to the Gartner (News - Alert) quadrant, Radicati provided each of the four sections with a label: Top Players, Trailblazers, Mature Players and Specialists. Companies evaluated included Apptix (News - Alert), AppRiver, CenterBeam, Ceryx, FuseMail, Go Daddy, Intermedia, Microsoft, mindSHIFT, NaviSite, Rackspace, SherWeb, and SilverSky.
