By Ed Silverstein
Gartner has included Evolve IP’s Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC) service in the "Visionaries" quadrant for Unified Communication as a Service (UCaaS). It was selected for its "ability to execute" and "completeness of vision," Gartner (News - Alert) explains.
A cloud services company, Evolve IP (News - Alert) provides a unified offering for cloud services with OneCloud.
"We believe Gartner's positioning of Evolve IP in the ‘Visionaries’ quadrant confirms our ability to deliver customers with a complete unified communications solution," Tim Allen, CSO of Evolve IP, said in a statement.
"Whether it's mobile devices, advanced desk phones with video, or messaging and presence services like Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync, … organizations are looking for unified solutions,” Allen added. “Evolve IP's award-winning unified communications service is ‘best-of-breed’ and provides our customers with superior reliability, features and voice quality."
Also, the company announced it has tens of thousands of users worldwide for Evolve IP. It is used for UC, virtual data centers/servers, virtual desktops, disaster recovery, and contact centers. Evolve IP's UC/IP phone system has such features as mobility applications, instant messaging and presence, desktop video, Microsoft Lync integrations and call center applications.
In addition, Intermedia (News - Alert) was also named by Gartner to the Visionaries quadrant in the Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications as a Service, North America. Intermedia's Office in the Cloud offering provides a cloud-based UC platform. It features core UC functionality (such as telephony, messaging, presence, and e-mail), services such as file sync and share, conference calling, email archiving, and Outlook backup) and SIP Trunking.
"Intermedia's UCaaS solution offers a unique combination of Microsoft applications and our own enhanced telephony and IT capabilities," Michael Gold, president of Intermedia, said in a statement. "But our services extend beyond UCaaS to include a deep portfolio of IT services such as security, storage, SIP trunking, file sharing and mobile device management ..."
