To generate real-time communications over their IP networks, BroadSoft, Inc., a provider of software that enables fixed-line, mobile and cable service providers has expanded its partner interoperability program to include mobile device manufacturers and SIP voice and video clients, which support today's most popular mobile operating systems.

According to a press release, this expansion of BroadSoft's (News - Alert) interoperability program shows its dedication to delivering mobile Voice over IP (VoIP) and video solutions for today's smartphones and tablets running over 3G and 4G wireless networks. Recently, the company has successfully integrated with more than 450 technology and business solutions partners.

Scott Hoffpauir, chief technology officer at BroadSoft said that, “The company is committed to providing mobile operators with the ability to offer a superior communications experience across an end-user's preferred device, and the company is leveraging our broad interoperability experience, which spans more than a decade, to include the growing variety of mobile smartphones and tablets running the most popular operating systems, including Android, iOS, Blackberry, WindowsPhone and Symbian.”

BroadSoft's extensive interoperability program will not only validate MMTel (News - Alert) and RCS feature sets against BroadSoft's IR.92 Telephony Application Server (TAS), the program will also include some of today's most popular communication services, such as video, delivered by BroadWorks, BroadSoft's industry service delivery platform and BroadCloud, BroadSoft's hosted, cloud service delivery infrastructure. The company’s partners already leveraging BroadSoft's enhanced interoperability documentation and process include AudioCodes (News - Alert), CounterPath, Ecrio, Movial, and MobileMax.

Tad Bogdan, chief executive officer at Ecrio commented that, ”Ecrio (News - Alert) communication client solutions power some of the most innovative real-time IP communication services and we believe BroadSoft's interoperability program will further simplify the rollout of next generation communication services and the company believes that BroadSoft's approach to extending their ecosystem to include client software and devices is a winning strategy.”

In other company news, TMCnet reported that BroadSoft, Inc. has announced it won The Washington Business Journal 2011 Venture Capital Awards in the category of "Exit of the Year."
