Powered by the growth in MIMO and cellular markets, Azimuth Systems, a provider of wireless broadband test equipment and channel emulators for LTE (News - Alert), WiMAX, 2G/3G cellular and Wi-Fi technologies, has announced various milestones. The company has stated that these milestones mark its continued growth in 2009.

Azimuth products are designed for the latest generation of wireless, carrier-grade networks. The company offers solutions for Wi-Fi, WiMAX, LTE, and 2G/3G cellular technologies.

According to a press release one of the major reasons for the company’s success was the introduction of its universal MIMO channel emulator, the ACE MX, a purpose-built, enhanced testing solution. This solution meets the demanding needs of Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output (MIMO)- and orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM)-based systems. The company has also added new international distributors worldwide including EHS Electronic Systems GmbH covering Austria, Germany and Switzerland; RDT Equipment and Systems in Israel; and Barbus Technology in China.

Azimuth has also entered into partnerships with other test equipment companies such as Anite (News - Alert) and Innowireless. These partnerships will help the company to produce enhanced test solutions which deliver more value to their common customers. Along with this, the company’s ACE MX MIMO Channel Emulator received several industry accolades in 2009, stated Azimuth.

Recently, Innowireless integrated Azimuth’s ACE MX MIMO channel emulator into its new AWT (News - Alert)-500AP test system designed for comprehensive Wave 2 Mobile WiMAX pre-certification testing. The addition of the ACE MX to the AWT-500AP test system enables the execution of WiMAX Forum (News - Alert)-specified radio conformance tests where fading, Doppler and AWGN effects are required. The AWT-500AP provides automated RF and physical layer tests to enable design validation.
