IPTOGO, an American telecom service provider, has acquired a license from Qnective AG for the global distribution of mobile VoIP solutions.
IPTOGO is based in Miami and specializes in the U.S. and Latin American market.
Officials with Qnective said that the Qtalk product family from the company forms the basis for the cost-effective mobile services that IPTOGO is developing for the U.S. and Latin American markets.
Qnective specializes in the development of VoIP, voice and data solutions for mobile communications. Company officials said that the Qnective solutions are designed for operators and business customers.
“Qnective is pleased to be working with a U.S. telecom company to license Qnective's first-of-its-kind technology. Working with IPTOGO and its distribution capabilities, which include around 30,000 points of sale in the United States and several important partnerships in Latin America, we will be able to successfully introduce 'Mobile Voice over Data' in this region,” said Oswald Ortiz, chairman of the board and CEO of Qnective, in a statement.
According to company officials, the agreement between Qnective and IPTOGO will create the foundation for both companies to serve the growing market of added value data and telecommunications, with a specific focus on Latin America and immigrants from Latin America living in the United States.
This, company officials said, will leverage the position of both companies in the ever-growing market for premium services in Latin America and among Hispanics in the United States.
“We are very happy to have found Qnective after years of intensive research. It is a company that develops the most complete VoIP mobile solutions with its own special technology,” said Ricardo Mandini, president and CEO of IPTOGO.
The Mandini family has been an icon in telecommunications in Latin America, having undertaken successful ventures as providers of high-tech equipment, operators of sophisticated telecom services, and integrators of innovative solutions in telecommunications. In 2009 the Mandini Group developed and integrated solutions for telecommunication services targeting Latin Americans living in the United States.
