For making Skype-to-Skype calls, the customers of Verizon (News - Alert) Wireless retailer Cellular Sales are no longer confined to their PC.
With Skype (News - Alert) mobile, it has now become possible exclusively for Verizon Wireless 3G smartphone users with data plans to easily connect with friends, family and business colleagues around the world.
“This is a tremendous partnership between Verizon Wireless and Skype,” Dane Scism, founder and CEO of Cellular Sales, said. “With Skype mobile on our phones, customers will be able to enjoy conversations with Skype contacts wherever they are at no extra cost.”
Skype mobile uses the Verizon Wireless voice network for the wireless connection of the Skype-to-Skype calls. Skype mobile users can
1. Make and receive unlimited Skype-to-Skype voice calls to any Skype contact around the globe;
2. Send and receive unlimited instant messages with other Skype users;
3. Manage the Skype contact list directly from the mobile application; and
4. Call international phone numbers at competitive Skype calling rates
Initially, Skype mobile will be available on millions of best-selling Verizon Wireless 3G smartphones, including the BlackBerry (News - Alert) Storm 9530, Storm2 9550, Curve 8330, Curve 8530, 8830 World Edition, and Tour 9630 smartphones, as well as DROID by Motorola, DROID ERIS by HTC and Motorola DEVOUR.
