Vopium (News - Alert), the Danish-based mobile communications company, has entered into a long-term agreement with Canada-based Convergia Networks Inc. to supply Convergia with Vopium's mobile VoIP and messaging platform.

Officials with Vopium were of the opinion that the agreement will allow Convergia to offer the entire company’s portfolio of advanced mobile and web-based communication services, including mobile VoIP, SMS, Instant Messaging, contact back-up, web-calling etc across North and South America under the Convergia Brand.

“Vopium has been developing and testing our white label platform over the last year, and we are excited to announce our first international partner today”, said Tanveer Sharif, CEO Vopium, in a statement.

Sharif said that Convergia is an ideal partner for Vopium, combining Vopium's advanced mobile VoIP technology with Convergia's strong Pan-American network infrastructure, expertise and marketing capabilities.

“Convergia is extremely happy to be teaming up with Vopium”, said Alejandro Bitar, president, Convergia. “We feel that Vopium's mobile and web-based services are perfectly designed for our current portfolio as well as our company's vision and direction.”

Convergia is a provider of voice, data, and Internet services for residential, business and wholesale customers.

Back in February Vopium had announced that its Global Mobile VoIP and Messaging Service is now available to partners as a white label solution. Vopium provides users with seamless, easy & instant high-quality international mobile communication from any mobile handset or web-browser.

Having launched the new Instant Messaging service, both on the web and across all major mobile operating systems, Vopium is convinced that the company now offers the most seamless and coherent mobile B2C VoIP and Messaging Service available in the market.

In parallel, Vopium has developed a proprietary IT and VoIP platform to support multiple service providers.

The Vopium service has been running on this platform for the last 6 months, and is now ready to be opened up to partners, allowing other providers to benefit from the cutting-edge technology. Vopium is in advanced discussions with a number of interested partners, and expect to announce the first white label partner shortly.
