Based on Intershop, Sigma is now launching e-commerce Intershop as a Service, a Software- as- a- Service (SaaS) solution, as a planned next step in the recently announced partnership. Fredrik Lundkvist, Business Area Manager at Sigma stated that besides the platform's market-leading performance and scalability, it opted for Intershop because its systems architecture allows a setup tailored for SaaS (News - Alert) solutions. An enterprise e-commerce solution can now be offered to the market.
"We offer start-up solutions for a quick launch. The platform has depth, flexibility and scalability that is superior to other systems in market. This is essential as e-commerce solutions often grow in complexity because of new and currently unknown needs", continues Lundkvist.
Fredrik Larsson, who is responsible for the partnership at Sigma, mentioned that solving customer requirements with its product, Intershop has a very strong track record. Throughout the Nordic region, with this competent product and strong delivery capabilities, it can deliver solutions to customers. In addition, it plans to offer its service along with SaaS solutions to Intershop and its various other partners in Europe.
Jochen Moll, CEO at Intershop, stated that especially for those businesses which do not want to invest in its own IT infrastructure from the start, delivering e-commerce Software- as -a -Service is gaining in importance. Nevertheless, as a valuable option, customers looking for maximum flexibility for their roll-out and internationalization projects, should consider SaaS solutions.
Online retailers who decide on Sigma's Intershop as a service offering will benefit from the easy and cost-effective access to a high-performance e-commerce platform with extensive customization and integration capabilities. Moreover, Sigma's proven first-class delivery capacity in implementation projects and its deep knowledge of retailer's needs and requirements will also give its customers the certainty to have all it takes at hand for implementing a successful e-commerce initiative.
