Skycore Launches New codeREADr-Based Service Option for Privacy and Regulatory Compliance Necessities

Skycore LLC, the company that brought us codeREADr - a commercial app that scans barcodes and gathers data on iOS and Android (News - Alert) mobile platforms - just launched a new option for people using the app, called Direct Scan to URL (DSU). Clients can use codeREADr in an environment that stores sensitive data and complies with regulations like PCI (News - Alert) DSS and HIPAA.

With DSU, clients can now enable barcode scanning and data collection in an environment in which their own servers are used for storing and processing the data, and interacting with the mobile devices that use the service. This way, everything is managed locally and regulatory compliance is not threatened.

The service allows things like admitting and discharging patients, managing medication, keeping track of attendance in educational facilities, finding employees, and tracking courier services.

"Our clients generally sync their databases to our cloud-based validation servers. They then use our servers for processing and generating reports based on the scan data uploaded from each app they provision," said Rich Eicher (News - Alert), Skycore's CEO.

Adding, "However, some larger healthcare and enterprise clients requested we sync their app scan data directly to their own servers, thus enabling themm to control potentially sensitive data. These clients can now use our DSU service option."

Clients who use DSU will have the ability to make full use of codeREADr's API collection to manage the way DSU works in their enterprises and establish access control.

Larger enterprises must always be on their toes for compliance. HIPAA demands that health records stay within a secure local environment, while PCI DSS demands that payment records be kept within a secure platform. Whether a business must follow one regulation or the other, DSU has the capability to help them with that task.
