Bango is now available on Google Play through Telstra (News - Alert), Australia’s trend-setter in mobile networks. Purchases made on Google Play via the customer’s cell phone will now be charged directly to their phone bill, allowing for a smoother transition for obtaining apps. Bango (News - Alert) had been approached earlier this year by other mobile companies to integrate with Bango’s Payment Platform for creating a payment structure to use with Google (News - Alert) Play.

This union is in the early stages of development, so predictions as to how successful this union will be are hard to predict. Bango does have high expectations with their affiliation with Google Play, as the Android (News - Alert) devices are becoming much more popular which means more sales through the Google Play store.

Google Play makes available to its users of Android devices several different types of products including: the latest and most popular apps, music, movies, books, and games. Making all of these products more readily available through an easier form of payment and then being able to use them on the most advanced mobile operating system available is almost a guaranteed formula for success.

Bango is a world-recognized leader in mobile payment solutions, as their software has been used to accept online purchases for several years. They have been known for their success with single click forms of payment, and this has also allowed for a higher rate of successful collections.

The chief executive officer of Bango, Ray Anderson, said, “Android is winning the battle for smartphone market share.  As user numbers soar, we will see an increasing flow of developer talent and compelling content channeled through Google Play.  We’re expecting that operator billing from Bango will boost conversion rates and developer monetization. It’s a new weapon in Google’s armory.”

Telstra users will now get to reap the benefits of both of these companies’ hard work and experience. Now, Australians will have the ability to purchase the latest games, apps and music to be used on their smartphones. Freddie Jansen Van Nieuwenhuizen, Telstra’s director of Consumer Applications and Services, shares his excitement, “Aussies love their mobile apps.  Telstra research shows that on average we download 36 apps each year and one in five of those are paid for.  With more than 700,000 games, apps, books, movies and magazines now available on Google Play, including a wide selection of paid titles, many of our customers have told us they would like a simpler way to buy.”
