Churches and nonprofit organizations using a ROAR app will now have the opportunity to accept credit card donations and develop a social community thanks to two new partnerships.

Recently, the company partnered with Merchant Focus, allowing churches and organizations to take donations right on the spot using a card swiper device on a smartphone, as well as WeLink, enabling app users to communicate with church members. User profiles on WeLink will display information on users from social networks such as Twitter (News - Alert), Facebook and LinkedIn.

"Engaging in a partnership with ROAR provides a powerful avenue for WeLink to positively affect the non-profit and church communities," Karthik Manimaran, co-founder of WeLink, explained in a statement. "I see WeLink's social community module as being a perfect complement to what ROAR has created, and I am thrilled for the opportunity to work together."

These new features will ultimately better service churches throughout the nation.

"We want to provide church app solutions that fit the needs of small churches on up to mega churches," Matt McKee, CEO of ROAR, added in said statement. "Online giving and social community are a big piece of the puzzle. That's why we've added the ability to accept credit cards along with social community features."

With these added capabilities, there are new three church app options. In addition to ROAR's $1,000 one-time set-up fee, the base application with information such as events, locations, QR scanner, RSS feeds, video podcasts and prayer wells, will cost $50 per month, the base application with information and social community will cost $100 per month and the base application with information, social community and giving will cost $125 a month.

While the latter option may seem costly at first, it will undoubtedly be worth the money, as churchgoers will have an easier way to make donations and will feel a sense of rich community using the social networking feature.
