AnywhereCommerce recently attained EMV L2 certification from EMVCo for its Mobile Chip and Pin solution, which will enhance its Nomad products, offering benefits to merchants seeking secure mobile commerce solutions for markets around the world.

Nomad has already achieved PCI PTS 3.x and EMVCo L1 certification and works on iOS, Android (News - Alert), BlackBerry and Windows Mobile with audio-jack, Bluetooth or USB interfaces. EMVCo is owned by American Express, JCB, MasterCard (News - Alert) and Visa and manages, maintains and enhances the EMV Integrated Circuit Card Specifications to ensure global interoperability of chip-based payment cards with acceptance devices, including point-of-sale terminals and ATMs.

Recognized as “Best of Breed” in mobile payments innovation, AnywhereCommerce offers a bundle of mobile POS, software apps and a global gateway. Its devices and applications support eCommerce, mCommerce, P2P, retail line-busting as well as traditional field services such as repairman, delivery or taxi services. Suite sets are tailored for banks, merchants and acquirers to experience a new brand of retail with a more advanced and secure on-the-go payment method. Merchants who acquire Chip and Pin payments will benefit from the fraud reduction, liability shift and lower interchange features.

The card networks have mandated EMV in the U.S. by October 2015 and most countries are promoting Chip and PIN as the actual standard for payments for brick, mortar and mobile transactions.

“With the current mandates for EMV from the card networks, PCI (News - Alert) and EMVCo, Nomad is the right product at the right time,” stated Mitchell Cobrin, CEO of AnywhereCommerce, in a statement. “Nomad has a true global market appeal and will support NFC to make it a true 'Swiss Army knife' for mobile POS.”

In addition to Nomad, AnywhereCommerce’s other debit and credit products include Rover, Rambler, Safe-T-Pin and Walker.
