Bitcoins are exploding in popularity faster than anyone could have predicted. It wasn’t five years ago that the digital currency first burst onto the scene. Now a single bitcoin is worth hundreds of dollars and companies from every walk of life are starting to see the real value of the item. SENSUOUS, a luxury sensuous massage parlor in London, has announced that it will be accepting bitcoins as payment for services.
The company is just the latest in a long line of firms that are trying to become friendlier to a growing population that is using bitcoins. Now that there are a couple of places in the world that actually offer up Bitcoin ATMS, it is only a matter of time before those are located on every street corner, just like normal ATMs that we find in gas stations, grocery stores and stand alone terminals.
SENSUOUS is the first company of its kind in the United Kingdom, but it only makes sense that other firms will be following close behind. The payment methods are quick, discreet and there aren’t a whole lot of banks getting in the way and charging users all kinds of different fees.
Bank of America is one institution that believes there is huge potential for growth. As the number of users of the digital currency continues to grow, more companies are going to be trying to find ways to take advantage of the fad. There have been some negative connotations that have come along with Bitcoins. The digital currency was recently used as a ransom in order to get some Malware authors off the backs of a Massachusetts police department.
Despite stories like that, businesses see more pros than cons when it comes to operate with this new currency. While this massage parlor is the first of its kind in Great Britain, there are likely going to be firms following suit relatively soon.
