Electric vehicles or EVs currently enjoy one of the highest levels of satisfaction among car owners. This is primarily due to new designs from Elon Musk's Tesla and others that have made everyone forget about previous EVs. Since the technology is now readily accepted, the next challenge is providing charging solutions that are convenient and available in as many places as gas stations around the country.
CarCharging, a nationwide provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging services, has introduced a new mobile application that gives EV drivers the ability to pay for charging their vehicles using their mobile device.
The beta version of the new mobile application is able to locate service providers that offer EV charging such as Blink, GE, SemaCharge, and ChargePoint EV owned by CarCharging and initiate the payment process from their iPhone (News - Alert). The company has stated in the future drivers will be able to pay at all public Blink, GE, and Sema charging stations.
The payment platform is processed by mobile commerce provider DoubleBeam and its white-labeled mobile wallet service. It allows drivers to pay for the service with electronic check, debit from their bank account, credit card and also by scanning personal checks, credit or debit card. The app uses the latest payment solution giving drivers more options in an easy to use platform that is secure and reliable.
"We are very proud to have worked with CarCharging to develop their new mobile app, which serves as a major milestone in the EV charging industryAfter many months of development and testing, we are eager to provide EV drivers with the opportunity to utilize the beta version and provide their feedback," added Ted Tekippe, CEO of DoubleBeam.
The beta version of the CarCharging application is now available for iOS devices if they register as an exclusive user through the company's website. The app for Android (News - Alert) will be available in the near future.
