Have you ever thought of a mobile phone provider as a bank? Sometimes with the amount of my money that goes toward phone service it certainly feels that way to me. T-Mobile’s (News - Alert) goal is to free you from the checking fees that banks charge you.

It is with this in mind that T-Mobile's Mobile Money takes advantage of surcharge free ATM network from Allpoint Network. Regardless of the fact of you having a T-Mobile phone account or not, you can take advantage of one of the more than 43,000 free ATMs in the network.

There are a lot of mobile apps coming out on the market. Some of them have the potential of being very useful such as LifeLens, others I have to just wonder “WHY!” I recently watched comedian Lewis Black say we may think that we can multitask, but we can’t. The example he used was texting and driving.

This should absolutely never be attempted however there is an app that uses your camera to give you a view of the sidewalk so you can continue to text without looking up. Again I say “WHY!” Possibly an app that could actually be helpful is called MyCheck. This will allow you do several things with your dining check.

It looks like mobile banking is finally beginning to pick up a little speed. At least that is what a new report finds when it comes to small businesses. The new study from RateWatch has some interesting figures when it comes down to SMBs and mobile banking. At some point in the not too distant future, all companies large and small are going to have to learn how to adapt to the world of mobile commerce.

If you are a business that operates outside the traditional brick and mortar structures commonly referred to as stores, then you might find it hard to process credit or debit card payments from your clients or customers. You could something like the Square, but that requires that you carry around an accessory. What if you could do it all by simply taking a picture of the card with an Android app?

Over the past two holiday seasons, I have noticed that gone are the days of getting up at 2am on Black Friday (News - Alert) to wait on line to start your Christmas shopping. The Internet allows you to shop in your pajamas sipping your coffee regardless of the time. Current reports show that even more traffic is being generated through mobile devices.

These are just a few of the stories that we worked on this week. The best way to stay current is to keep checking in with us. You can stay current by checking out the details to these stories and many more by going to Mobile Commerce Insider and keeping an eye what is going on in the mobile world of commerce.
